Gal Gadot had a scary health problem before the birth of her fourth child, Ori …said she had a large blood clot – and needed emergency surgery to save her life.
The actress shared a photo of her breastfeeding baby girl lying in the hospital bed looking completely exhausted. In her photo she describes exactly why Instagram caption.
Gadot says this year has been one of the most challenging of her life… She admitted she wrestled with whether or not she should share this story – and ultimately decided she should let her heart guide her.
GG says she was diagnosed with a blood clot back in February – during her eighth month of pregnancy. She suffered from incredibly painful headaches for weeks before finally having an MRI to find out the problem.
Gadot says she was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery just hours after arriving.
Gal writes: “My daughter Ori was born in this moment of uncertainty and fear. Her name, which means “my light,” was not chosen by chance. Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.

Ultimately, Gal says she has made a full recovery… and encourages people to tune into their bodies – because awareness saves lives.
She also says more pregnant women struggle with these blood clots than many may know… and she's trying to make other mothers aware of this medical complication.
Ori is Gadot's fourth child. Her other three children – Alma, MayaAnd Daniella — were born in 2011, 2017 and 2021, respectively.
Gadot has several films coming out next year… but it sounds like work was the last thing on her mind this year.
