Gareth Southgate will publish a book with the former head of England ready to share lessons learned to guide three lions to two main finals

  • Gareth Southgate took England in consecutive European championship
  • Represented the three lions 159 times, with 102 of those who come as manager
  • Listen now: Everything is starting! Is there an agenda against Ange Postecoglou?

Gareth Southgate must publish a new book.

Mail Sport understands that an agreement with an editor has been agreed and an announcement is due shortly.

It is not believed that the book is a journey of warts and all over the time of Southgate as manager of England.

On the other hand, it is likely to take the form of a leadership guide, with Southgate probably sharing lessons that he picked up when he guided the three lions to two main finals for the first time since 1966.

Southgate has represented his country on 159 occasions, with 102 of those who come in the shelter and the other 57 with the shirt of the three lions.

For his services to Southgate football, he was appointed gentleman in the New Year Honors list, and recently assumed the role as a visiting professor at the Harvard Business School.

“After renouncing as manager of England after eight very special years, I have been reflecting on what I have lived and what comes next,” said the former head of England.

'Training the best players and playing against some of the best teams in the world pushed me to operate at the highest level in football.

“Instead of writing a memory of those times, I decided to share my experiences in a different way, through the leadership lens that I hope to provide lessons for anyone who wants to discover their own authentic leadership style.”

The editorial director, Ben Brusley, added: 'Just as Gareth inspired the nation with his leadership of England, each page of his book will inspire readers with their characteristic meaning of purpose, honesty, resistance and integrity.

“This will be a historical leadership book, which I know that readers will enjoy in the coming years.”
