German newspapers have singled out two Bayern Munich players as the biggest losers under Vincent Kompany so far this season, with a former Premier League star taking the unfortunate accolade just over a year after joining.
Kompany's new-look Bayern are four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga after a strong start to the campaign and remain on course to qualify directly for the Champions League last 16 despite defeats to Aston Villa and Barcelona .
The former Burnley head coach has often called up his team's fringe players with increasingly intense fixtures, but several first-team players face a bleak future.
In fact, young striker Mathys Tel has been cited by Bild as one of the losers. With no goal or assist this year, the 19-year-old could be loaned out in January.
But one teammate who is on the brink of a permanent exit is Eric Dier.
Dier, who spent a decade at Tottenham between 2014 and 2024, joined Bayern in January in a shock loan deal after being sidelined under Ange Postecoglou. This deal became permanent after just two months, in light of his good form.

But Eric Dier (centre) is likely to leave in the summer after falling down the pecking order.
During his first months in Bavaria, the 30-year-old battled with Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae for a place in Kompany's starting eleven. However, in recent months he has slipped down the pecking order.
Kompany has also selected midfielder Leon Goretzka as a central defender, ahead of Dier.
As a result, Dier has played only nine games this season, starting twice.
His contract expires at the end of the campaign and Bild has reported that he is unlikely to have a future at Bayern beyond the summer.
Kompany is also believed to be targeting a signing for Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah, although reports in Spain claim a deal with Barcelona is close.
In April, Dier waxed lyrical about his form, saying he was in the best form of his career and insisting his performances merited a surprise call-up to the England squad.
“Since the World Cup, I wouldn't say I've had any dip in my form,” Dier said. The overlap. “I have been playing the best football of my career since (Antonio) Conte arrived (to manage Tottenham in 2021) and I have continued like that since then.
'People think I'm 37 or something, but I'm 30 and I'm nowhere near the end of my prime and imagine this will be my prime.
“I want to be part of the England set-up and I think I should be part of it, that I am that level of player.”
