Glasgow Warriors have been forced to reschedule Friday night's URC clash with Connacht to Sunday afternoon due to forecast severe weather warnings.
Storm Eowyn is expected to cause chaos over the next few days, with winds expected to reach speeds of up to 90 mph.
The amber warning covers southern Scotland and most of the central belt from 6am on Friday until 9pm, raising safety concerns.
Glasgow's match against Connacht was originally scheduled to start in Scotstoun at 7.35pm, but has now been postponed until Sunday, 3.30pm.
“This decision has been made due to the severe weather warning in place and the strong winds expected to occur in Scotland and Glasgow this Friday, the original match date,” read a statement from the URC.
The Warriors have to postpone their game at Scotstoun until Sunday due to bad weather.
“The safety of spectators, team and stadium staff, players, referees and broadcast staff is the number one priority and it is clear that the expected weather conditions would seriously compromise this.”
Meanwhile, second row Alex Samuel, who made his debut for Scotland against Portugal in November, has agreed to a contract extension with Glasgow.
The 22-year-old joined the Warriors as a teenager in 2020 and has appeared in all but one of their 13 games in all competitions this season and is highly respected at Scotstoun.
