- Titans forced to train in Sydney for Bulldogs's clash
- Club land affected by former tropical cyclone Alfred
The Gold Coast Titans have been forced to flee to Sydney to prepare for their match with the Bulldogs after the club's fields and buildings were flooded during the weekend.
Like many in Queensland, the Titans are feeling the impact of Cyclone Alfred, who has left their soccer fields in Parkwood under an amazing two meters of water.
The installation of the club's dojo, used for interior training, has also been seriously damaged by the extreme weather event.
The players will go to Sydney on Tuesday, although they have not confirmed where they will train when they arrive.
The head of the club, Steve Mitchell, says that the team will be ready to act when they meet the Bulldogs in their first departure from the season.
“For many people on the coast and throughout our region, the last days have been challenging to say the least, since families have dealt with the rains and winds that have mistreated their homes,” Mitchell said in a statement.

'First, our thoughts as club are for those in our region that are making it difficult as a result of this weather event and an immense rain that has followed.
'As many, we have also had significant damage in our facilities and that means that we must change the way we operate while we also assign the damage.
'Working with our players, staff and their families, we first need to verify the well -being of our people to ensure that they were fine, and we have offered our support to those who need it most.
'With our high performance unusable high performance center for training this week, we will send our team to Sydney early to make sure they can prepare properly for our first game of the season this Sunday against the Bulldogs in Belmore.
“At the end of what will have been a great week for our community, we hope that a great result against the Bulldogs on Sunday brings our members and fans a very necessary joy.”
The team will not return to Queensland until next week.
