Harry Kane revealed he wants his friend Eric Dier to stay at Bayern Munich after their 3-2 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday.
Dier's contract with the German giants expires in the summer after he joined Tottenham on loan in January 2024, with the option to stay permanently for another season.
Since his arrival, he has made 31 appearances, but his playing time has reduced recently, starting just three league games this season.
The England international has struggled to make consistent appearances in Bayern's starting XI, below Dayot Upemecano and Kim Min-jae in the central defense pecking order.
However, Kane insisted that Dier remains an important weapon in Vincent Kompany's defense and credited his performances when given the opportunity.
Asked if he wanted his former Spurs friend to extend his contract at the Allianz Arena this summer, Kane said: “Eric has been great, he's been waiting patiently.

He is behind Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano in the central defense pecking order at Bayern.
“Obviously (Upamecano) and Min-Jae have been fantastic this season, so Eric had to bide his time.
βHe's come in the last two games and done very, very well, and got two clean sheets, so, yeah, of course I'd love for Eric to stay.β
“I guess that's between him and the club, I haven't had any conversations with him so we'll have to see.”
“He did very well when he played. Eric and I get along very well. But we haven't talked about his future. That's a matter between him and the club.”
In addition to Dier, Kane revealed that he hopes Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich, who also have expired contracts, will stay in Bavaria.
He said: “I hope they sign.” “So we can continue what we have already built together this season.”
Dier, 31, joined Spurs in 2014, a year after Kane, and spent 10 years at the north London club.
After being dropped from Ange Postecoglou's squad last season, he reunited with his friend in Germany and credited Kane for helping him adapt to Bayern.
Kane and Dier spent nine years playing together at Tottenham between 2014 and 2023.
“Harry helped me a lot in the integration, that makes everything easier for me,” he said in February of last year.
'But that applies to everyone at the club. Everyone has been amazing so far and has helped me a lot. βI am very grateful for that.β
Kane and Dier first played together for the England Under-19 team in 2012 and have since appeared in 386 games together, for Bayern, Tottenham and England at junior and senior level.
