Harry Kane's senior race began with a sentence of Miss against Hearts … Now Bayern Munich's talisman is reaching Celtic Park as the most lethal striker on the planet

When a newly out of Harry Kane took his first steps in senior football in August 2011, success was not an immediate partner.

An 18 -year -old raw striker who still tries to make his way in the game, lost a penalty in his debut at Tottenham in a Europa League qualifier against Hearts in White Hart Lane.

Jamie Macdonald saved the shot to the point when the visitors claimed a 0-0 draw at night, although the spurs prevailed 5-0 together.

After having spent the previous loan in Leyton Orient, Kane would be grown on loan once again, this time to Millwall just a few months later.

At that time, Tottenham was not convinced. Another pair of loan spells would follow Norwich and Leicester before he finally returned and nailed a place of the first team. The rest, of course, is history.

If it is a skinny teenager who sponge its lines against Hearts, Kane now has a fixed view in the Scottish opposition once again in European competition.

He is no longer a rookie trying to make a name. In a nutshell, Kane will arrive at Celtic Park tonight as the most lethal striker on the planet.

The captain of England has been revelation since he moved to Bayern Munich 18 months ago, breaking all kinds of goal records.

Last season, he shot 44 goals in 45 games in all competitions. He has scored another 28 in so many games so far in this term.

In general, 72 goals in 73 games have made it an instant success in Bavaria. For Bayern, Kane is Der Goal Machine. Robert Lewandowski's name is no longer mentioned in Munich.

In fact, the only moment in which the name of Lewandowski tends to appear now is to make reference to the fact that Kane's goals are eclipseing many of the records established by the former kicker murderer of Bayern and Poland.

For the context, Lewandowski scored 67 goals in 100 games in his first two seasons with Bayern. Kane has already deleted that total, and still has four months left.

The score record of a season established by Lewandowski is 55 goals in 47 games, a feat that achieved in the 2019-20 Bayern winning season under Hansi's film.

If Bayern can deepen the champions League this season, as many expect them to do it, Kane could approach that brand.

Erling Haaland registration has also fallen. Last November, a hat-trick against Augsburg saw Kane become the fastest player to reach 50 goals from the Bundesliga. That was in 43 games compared to the 50 Haaland games for Borussia Dortmund.

Other personal records and milestones have fallen. When Bayern hit Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 last September, Kane's four goals saw him become the best English scorer of all time in the Champions League.

Rooney scored 30 goals in 85 games in the tournament. Kane had won the Rooney record after having played only 45 games.

He was also the first English player to score four goals in a game in the competition, while Bayern became the first team to score nine.

And yet, despite all this, despite the fact that Kane is destroying record books, there is still no trophy to show. At this time, as things are, Kane is perhaps the best player in history to never win anything.

In his Bayern debut in the German Super Cup in August 2023, Kane and his teammates lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig.

Since Bayern had won the 11 previous Bundesliga titles in a row, surely Kane would finally have his hands in some cutlery at the end of the campaign? It is not so.

Bayer Leverkusen's defincible produced one of the best seasons in the history of German football, going undefeated since they claimed a double league and cup.

It seemed that the curse of Kane's trophy had followed him from northern London to Bavaria. The captain of England had also played in two main finals with his country, in the 2020 and 2024 Eurocup, but he had never managed to exceed the line.

Now it is surely just a matter of time before Kane finally has his hands in some cutlery. With Bayern currently eight Leverkusen points at the top of the Bundesliga table, a monumental collapse would be needed from here.

However, in a superpower like Bayern, it is in Europe where players are finally judged. Kane will know that a triumph of the Champions League is the reference point for anyone who wishes to reach iconic status in Munich.

Speaking last month, he asked about the need to gain trophies and how it would be compared with the many personal praise he has collected over the years.

“I start every season with the aim of winning collective trophies, I am not satisfied with distinguishing only individual level,” said the 31 -year -old, who joined Bayern for a rate of around £ 86 million more accessories.

'I am only 31 years old. At one point, at that age, it began to be the end. Today, as things are going, we almost reached our best moment at 30.

'I think the best is yet to come. I am very sure of that and I am very sure of the fact that the second part of my career, which is opening now, will be rich in large trophies.

'When I hang my boots, (not winning a trophy) it will no longer be a problem. I am extremely proud of what I have achieved in my career so far, but I also know that, of course, I want to have trophies to show.

'I feel that I am in a real peak in my career and, hopefully, for the next four or five years, that will be the case. Then there will be opportunities.

The search for Kane for the glory of the Champions League now takes him back to Glasgow, a city where Scottish hearts broke into a World Cup classifier in June 2017.

After Leigh Griffiths had surprised England with two magnificent free throws, it was Kane's last equalizer that snatched a 2-2 draw in Hampden.

That was actually his first game as a captain, and Kane reflected a couple of years ago that the goal is still one of the most memorable he has scored throughout his career.

Given the living red form that he has shown in the last 18 months, it would not be a surprise if Kane has a considerable influence on the result in Celtic Park tonight.

Lately towards the end of his time in the Spurs, Kane fell deeply and almost operated more like a no 10 instead of a striker.

With Bayern, he is playing much higher in the field as the focal point and a traditional number 9 in the 4-2-3-1 preferred system of Vincent Kompany.

The results are simple for everyone to see. Kane is the top tjaint scorer in the Top Five League of Europe this season, along with MO Salah.

By scoring more than three goals per game, Bayern's total goals in 21 Bundesliga games converts them into the best scorers in all the major leagues in Europe.

No player has contributed more to that than Kane. A goal machine born and raised in England is now winning everyone's hearts and minds in Munich. The glory of the Champions League would only accelerate its trip to be crowned as the new Prince of Bavaria.
