- Daniel Sams and Cameron Bancroft collided while both trying to catch
- His Sydney Thunder team ended up chasing Perth Scorchers' total on the last ball
- Both were confirmed to have a concussion and Sams had to be stretchered off.
Shocking footage has emerged of two cricketers colliding with each other while trying to catch a Big Bash League game and it is sickening to watch.
Daniel Sams and Cameron Bancroft were lining up for Sydney Thunder against Perth Scorchers in the over-20s competition when they collided with each other at Perth's Optus Stadium.
Cooper Connolly of the home team was facing New Zealand bowler Lockie Ferguson in the first innings of the game when he bowled a high shot into the right side of his legs.
Both Sams and Bancroft go for the high catch and Bancroft, running in from closer to the wicket, takes the ball in his hand before his teammate hits him head-on in a toe-toe collision.
The pair remained motionless for a few moments as help arrived and Sams, 32, eventually had to be stretchered off the field after appearing to suffer more serious injuries than his colleague.
Former Australia Test batsman Bancroft, also 32, managed to leave the field with the help of a physiotherapist, but appeared to be battling a nosebleed.

The Sydney Thunder pair remained motionless for a few moments and Sams had to be stretchered off.
It was later confirmed that both players had suffered a concussion following the collision.
After the incident, Thunder said in a statement: “Both players are conscious and talking, showing concussion symptoms and have possible fractures.” Both have been taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The match eventually resumed after a break of around 20 minutes and, at the change of tackle, it was confirmed that both players had suffered a concussion.
Scorchers amassed a solid score of 177/4 and Connolly scored 43 off 31 balls. Sams had caught early in the innings and managed 25 runs in his three overs.
It ended up having a thrilling finish, with Thunder completing their chase in the final delivery, winning by four wickets to move into second place and above Scorchers.
Bancroft played in 10 Test matches for Australia from 2017 to 2019, averaging 26.23 with the bat and making three half-centuries.
He is perhaps best known for his role in the ball-tampering scandal, in which he admitted to ball-tampering after the third Test match on a 2018 tour of South Africa.
The batter was seen on camera rubbing the ball with sandpaper and, after he realized the violation, he hid the sandpaper under his pants before the umpires came to talk to him.
Captain Steve Smith later admitted that the plan had been hatched by the team's leadership group and Cricket Australia sent him home along with Bancroft and opening batsman David Warner.
Bancroft played 10 Tests for Australia but was dropped after struggling in the 2019 Ashes.
He was banned for nine games following a ball-tampering incident in South Africa in 2018.
Sams has featured in 10 T20 internationals for Australia and has starred for the Sydney Thunder.
Bancroft received a nine-game suspension for carrying out orders, attempting to conceal evidence and misleading officials on the field.
Still, he joined Somerset Country Cricket Club that summer in a move that had already been planned.
The batsman returned to the Test circuit the following year in the 2019 Ashes series in England, but failed in his four innings in the first two matches and was dropped for the rest of the series.
'Karate Kid' Sams has played 10 T20 internationals for his country, most recently a match against England in October 2022.
