Matt Floyd, the Australian boxer with a problematic past, has spoken exclusively to send sports about his ongoing negotiations for a high profile fight with Tommy Fury.
Floyd explained how his representatives have been in conversations with Spencer Brown, manager of Tyson Fury, and Mams Taylor, the co -chair of the misfits of Ksi's boxing promotion, to finish the fight.
Six feet high with a professional record of 15 wins and 1 defeat, Floyd trusts that you can ensure most of your career. But his battle began long before he entered the ring.
Floyd's past is marked by heartbreaking experiences that shaped the man he would become. His early years passed it inside and out of parenting care, bouncing between houses before being in a horrible situation with only 10 years.
In an exclusive interview with Mail Sport, he said: 'He was inside and out of parenting care when he was younger. I lived with many different families and ended with one of Perth's largest pedophile families when I was about 10 years old.
'He was the oldest child of the house at that time and ended up fleeing after six months. Approximately a year later, everyone did (trapped by the police). It was something really big here in Australia.

Floyd's childhood was a nightmare, and the trauma of those years remained long after he escaped. He still dealt with feelings of guilt, even though he now understood that he was a victim in that situation.
“Obviously now, as an adult, I understand that it was not a coward,” Floyd continued. 'But, the problem is that when you are a child you have these traumas and you cannot control how you think thanks to them. Now I know that nothing that happened was my fault, but I felt it was when I was younger.
'I will give you an example. When I was a child and they made me do things, you really think you are the wrong. You think you are the one who bothers other children when you are 10 years old. But you are just a child. But, this is how it makes you feel at the time. You feel that you are doing something wrong and is horrible.
'I felt that I was doing wrong things. I was hurting the other children. It was a coward to escape and get out of that situation, leaving them there. Now I know that, as an adult, it wasn't, he was just a child who was forced to do this and that. But, I still felt it and I can't escape him today.
These formative years left deep scars in Floyd, and trauma would boost many of their subsequent decisions. He ended up choosing a path that would lead to a violent remuneration against those he saw as predators.
When he was young, Floyd became obsessed with demolishing the predators, those who, like those of his past, precipitated the children. He gathered a group of related people and took the matter in their own hands, organizing operations to face and expose pedophiles.
'We were probably the first people who started doing things like this. Now there are people in line with cameras and things, but we weren't doing it like that. We were grabbing them, '' he said.
'We had this really intelligent guy in our group that would pretend to be a child … We would pretend that our friend was a child and attract pedophiles. We would be covered and we would have all the evidence against him, so if they call us the police, we had all this evidence against him.
Standing at six feet high, Floyd has 15 professional victories and a defeat for his name in his career.
'They would also be talking to a child now that he was no longer a child, so the police would see him. When we found them, we would not do anything bad … we really wanted to scare them until death. I wanted them to think they were going to die.
Floyd's motivation for these acts was rooted in a desire for justice, but finally led him on a dangerous path. He was arrested for kidnapping and assault after a confrontation with a known pedophile that intensified to the point where the police intervened. Floyd states that the police had established it, but the law did not seem kindly in their actions, and was sentenced to prison.
'I ended up going to prison for kidnapping a pedophile. I had this boy at home and did not leave the room. The police ended up entering and arranging me, but they really prepared me. The guy had already ended for pedophilia. It was a registered pedophile. He came to rape a 12 -year -old girl three times.
'When he finished, the police offered him a deal. They said hey, do you want to work for us and we will give you a discount? So, this guy came to my gym where I was taking people out of the streets if they had an addiction or problems and helping them.
'He told me that he used to be drugged and that he needed help, etc. I took him to the gym and then ended up discovering that he was pedophile. I went to this house, which was every camera to face it.
'When I got there, I didn't let him out of the room because he wanted to know about what he had done to the 12 -year -old girl. He admitted other things, such as his sister and all kinds.
'Every time I was going out of the room, I didn't let him go. I would hit it or keep it in bed. But then the police ran and grabbed me. That is why I ended up going to prison for kidnapping and assault.
'They loved me due to other things like being a gang leader, but they couldn't catch me for that, so they put me in prison for this. I did about two and a half years before being sentenced to five and a half years.

However, his time behind bars did not break it. Instead, it became a turning point, which finally led him to boxing and helped others who had experienced the same trauma.
But, before his imprisonment, Floyd had become a leader in a local motorcyclist gang, a position he achieved at the early age of 22. Known for its hardness and street intelligence, Floyd quickly rose to power, a role that would eventually become part of his redemption narrative.
'The gang to which I joined was a motorcyclist club. It is the same as a gang, it is just a different name. They set up bicycles. I didn't even ride a bicycle, but ended up in the gang. I could fight very well and they liked it because I grew up in the streets. They made me a quite fast leader … I was probably the youngest where I am, so I had that great name for being this ruthless person. ''
But Floyd's imprisonment also provided the clarity he needed. While rebuilding his life, boxing became the key to his future. After his release, he began to train seriously and became a professional boxer, determined to change his life and give a better example for others.
Now, as a successful boxer, Floyd uses its platform to give back to the community, particularly adolescents with problems. Having passed by himself, he understands the importance of tutoring and strives to help young people avoid the difficulties that derailed their own life.
'I am in 15, 16 years. You know, adolescence because I remember that when I needed help. To this day, I have never had the help I need. I have never had a model to follow father.
'There are approximately 1 percent chance that an adult can change their forms. I am that percent. I know that for teenagers, there is 50/50 percent of possibilities that they can change their lives and I want to help them do that. I think if I have 100 children in my gym, 100 of them change their lives and I have seen it. '
This impulse to inspire others through their own example remains in the center of the Boxing trip of Floyd. Its final objective is not wealth or fame, but demonstrate to young people, especially those who have faced difficulties, that change is possible.

'I don't care about money. You can keep the money, I just want to show the boys of my gym that this can be done. I want to fight the best in the world and show these boys that you can go from jail and what I have succeeded to succeed.
'You see all the time that famous people only fight against famous people, billionaires only fight multimillionaires, no one has given a rocky photo of Balboa and I want to show the children that it can happen. Everyone has seen me do this on my own and motivates them to do it too.
Today, Floyd's views are in a confrontation with Tommy Fury, the younger brother of the heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Floyd revealed to Mail Sport that discussions are being carried out during a March fight.
After more than a year outside the competition, it was announced in December that Fury would face the former challenger of the UFC Darren title until a scheduled fight for January 18.
The fight would have marked Fury's first fight defeated KSI in a mediocre decision in Manchester in 2023. However, the fight was canceled after Fury retired.
The co -president of Misfits, Mams Taylor, said last month that the conversations were underway to find a new fight for Fury. While Floyd turned to social networks to affirm that he should fight against the 25 -year -old.

Floyd added: 'This Tommy Fury thing has been a roller coaster. He is giving me a headache. It has been like week and weeks. I don't understand all these bulls ***. Then, he got involved. He is like, I can't guarantee 100 percent of Tommy Fury, but I'll take you to that fight. You will be fighting someone.
