Jamie Carragher has expressed doubts over Andy Robertson's ability to perform at Liverpool's left-back, urging manager Arne Slot to prioritize signing a new defender in the January transfer window.
The Scotland international, 30, earned his 20th start of the season in all competitions during Liverpool's 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
However, Carragher has expressed concern over Robertson's form, despite acknowledging his contributions as a club “legend”, stating that the defender is “holding up in every game”.
Speaking after the match, Carragher said: “This manager's style is slightly different to Klopp's. He's not as enthusiastic. Liverpool have a lot more goals in the team than Arsenal.”
He added: “Liverpool still concede goals. Liverpool need to sign a full-back in January. I'm thinking about the left-back. Robertson is an absolute legend and now he stands firm in every game.”
Roy Keane shares a similar perspective to Carragher. Before the match, the former Manchester United captain highlighted Robertson as a potential weak link in Liverpool's line-up.

“The only player I would look at at Liverpool that I have doubts about in the last two years is Robertson,” Keane said on Sky Sports. “I think if you have the opportunity to run at him, you make the most of it.”
