Jamie Carragher has compared Ryan Gravenberch with a Premier League legend before Liverpool's clash with Tottenham.
The Reds face the Spurs in the semifinal match of the Carabao Cup, which takes place in the game but is still favorites to cancel the deficit and establish a final against Newcastle in Wembley.
Tevenbebch began the game in the center of the field, fulfilling its role now regular No 6 while protected the four rear, which could barely afford to admit if they were going to qualify for the final.
The 22 -year -old has received generalized applause for his presentations this season, and Carragher sang his praise in Sky Sports coverage of the semifinal.
In the summer, Liverpool tried to buy Martin Zubimendi, but the Spanish rejected the opportunity to move to Anfield. They did not look elsewhere, with Gravenberce back in their place.
And his performances have been so impressive that Carragher compared it to one of the most iconic premier league midfielders of all time when the midfielder is discussed before the game.
“It's really interesting since they thought a lot about him when he entered,” Carragher began. 'The reason Bayern Munich let him go was because they played a different system. Liverpool played 4-3-3, was more an attacker midfielder, ran with his long legs.
'When Liverpool tried the players in the six, I was testing them. They were not completely sure of the idea: it was more attacking. I was really intrigued, but I couldn't see how it would work.
“The greatest fulfillment I can give is that he would be in the race for the player of the year, he remembers Patrick Vieira, the long legs, moving through the midfield. It has been a revelation.
