Kannon with AK/Open Day
Jason Derulo is optimistic about the fate of TikTok … despite the ticking countdown to banning the social media app in the United States.
The singer shared his view on the impending ban Kannon with a Kon the radio show “Open House Party,” where he defended TikTok as far “too valuable” to simply hide.

In his opinion, there is simply too much at stake for the social media app to be shut down, noting that there are many people behind the scenes who want to find a way to keep TikTok available in the US
Jason, who has 66 million followers on the app, says he would happily buy TikTok… if only the company used his follower count as a measure of his ownership.
In fact, JD believes that one of the many billionaires who have expressed interest in saving TikTok will likely be key to saving the platform in the US.
However, Jason may be a little more nervous now… as the Supreme Court upheld the TikTok ban on Friday, making way for a possible ban on American app stores starting Sunday.
So it's good that Jason has a contingency plan in case of a shutdown.
As he tells Kannon, he is open to using other social media alternatives, including TikTok competitor RedNote. However, he believes that whoever is best at live streaming will come out on top in the end.
