Jason Kelce has revealed the advice he gave his wife Kylie before she launched her hit podcast 'Not Gonna Lie'.
The former Philadelphia Eagles star was in a good position to help his wife, given the great success of his program in New Heights with his younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis.
In the first few weeks of Kylie's show, she toppled Joe Rogan at the top of the charts, and while there's a long way to go before she consistently beats the podcasting giant, it's an exciting start for her new venture.
“She's killing it,” Jason said. in an interview to the people. “It doesn't surprise me in the least. She's been the smartest in the family for a long time.
'People have been asking your point of view for a long time. And whenever it appears on our podcast, those episodes tend to be the most viewed. So I hoped it would do well and I hope it continues that way.
“The only advice I gave him was, 'Make sure you do what you want with the show.'” It takes a lot of people, especially to make a podcast or anything that's recorded, you work with a lot of people who are experts in their fields.
Jason Kelce is full of admiration for his wife Kylie and the early success of their podcast.
Jason said he believes Kylie's authenticity has made audiences gravitate toward her.
'I think Kylie is a very authentic person. I think she is very real. And I think that makes people connect with her. And I think she's very smart, funny, charismatic and beautiful. So I think when you combine all those traits, people tend to like to listen to it.”
Kylie's success comes amid her recent pregnancy announcement, and the couple are expecting their fourth child: a fourth daughter.
Meanwhile, Jason has been adjusting to life outside the NFL after tearfully announcing his retirement last year after 13 years with the Eagles.
The success of New Heights has kept him busy: He and Travis signed a new $100 million deal to produce the show last year, while he's also partnered with ESPN.
Kelce is a regular on his Monday Night Football coverage and last week launched his own talk show on the channel.
Its ratings have yet to rival Kylie's podcast: the first week it only got around 290,000 viewers.
