Jennifer Garner It's like countless numbers of L.A. residents living in the burned areas feeling guilty that they were spared while so many of their friends and neighbors were not.
Garner, standing with the chef in front of burned buildings in the Pacific Palisades, told MSNBC Jose Andres“I lost a friend and it's really painful for our church… so I don't feel like I should talk about her anymore. But yeah, I lost a friend who didn’t get out on time.”
She went on to say she could make a list of 100 friends who lost everything in the fire, adding: “I almost feel guilty when I walk through my house. What can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? “What do I have to offer with these hands and these walls and the security that I have?”
Garner has lived in the Palisades for a quarter century, spending part of that time with his ex-husband Ben Affleckwho lived nearby and was photographed looking pensive as he drove to her home after being evacuated.
The fires are still raging and more winds are expected this weekend. LA's mayor is on the ropes after LA's fire chief blasted her on TV for cutting the fire department's budget. Apparently the chief's statement was triggered after the mayor said at a news conference earlier this week that budget cuts would not affect the response to the fires. The boss called nonsense about this.
