president Jimmy CarterHe missed some serious drama – his funeral sparked a mini-soap opera between the president-elect Donald Trumpall of his predecessors in the White House… and his former vice president Mike Pence.
You could feel the tension in the air as Trump entered the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. on Thursday morning, because one of the first people he confronted was Pence – you know, the guy Trump's supporters had targeted in January. 6 Uprising.
The former running mates kept it elegant: They looked each other in the eye, shook hands and made sure things continued.
Seconds later, however, another breathtaking moment as DT and Melania took their places, Barack Obama came in – without Michelle – and sat down right next to the Trumps. Things looked pretty icy from the start…no handshakes or eye contact between political opponents.
Believe it or not, it was Trump who appeared to break the ice by leaning in and whispering something to start a conversation. Barry and Don smiled and even laughed at times. Imagine that!!
It was a remarkable gathering of the POTUS brotherhood – George W. And Laura Bush, The invoice And Hillary Clintonplus Trump, Obama and President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden … everyone sits in a row.
The Veeps also appear Al Gore, Dan QuaylePence and, yes… Kamala Harris And Doug Emhoff were there too.
By the way…Kamala and Biden sat in the row before Trump and Obama. There was no eye contact whatsoever between Kamala and Trump, or even between her and Biden…at least at the start of the ceremony.
Funerals…the best party not to attend.
