The golf icon John Daly has acclaimed the influence of President Donald Trump to help end the civil war of sport between the PGA and LIV tour.
The conversations are still ongoing on a fusion between the original tour and the separatist league backed by Saudi Arabia, after many of the best players in the world deserted following the new money offers of the new child in the block.
In recent months, Trump has tried to mediate in the conversations between the two parties, celebrating meetings in the White House, and the icon of the PGA Tour, Daly, 58, now praised the president, even did a new nickname.
'I just love Jay (Commissioner of PGA Tour, Monahan), and thank God Trump is getting involved, because I want him to work.
'Because I have friends on the PGA tour and the LIV tour, and I want everyone to play. The best players need to play.
In fact, Daly, who now exercises his trade on the PGA Champions tour, believes that there is a simple solution for the problem created by two rival tours.

Speaking in the news program 'Rob Schmitt Live', he said: 'We are obliged, we have to play in 15 events a year, on the PGA tour. Our Champions tour is a little less, but to maintain our insurance and to keep our 401ks, our retirement plans in operation.
“But you know, hey, if those boys want to go to Liv and they will pay them a lot of money, you are going to play 29 tournaments because you have to play 15 on our tour, and you have to play 14 in yours. That is the end of the solution. We are going to play golf.
'Golf is a global game and everyone should have the opportunity to play … you are born, live, and what is it for? To make sure your family. Liv Golf is taking care of some people's families, and that is the way I see it. ''
Speaking before the players this week in Florida, the head of PGA Tour, Monahan, provided an update on the current state of the conversations.

The discussions have been ongoing since June 2023 when the first news of a fusion of shock between the PGA tour, DP World Tour and the public investment fund of Saudi Arabia emerged.
All parties met at the White House with Trump last month, and Monahan revealed: 'We are Doing everything possible to join both sides.
That said, we will not do it in a way that decreases the strength of our platform or the very real impulse we have with our fans and partners.
'While we have eliminated some obstacles, others remain. But like our fans, we still share the same sense of urgency to reach a resolution. Our team is totally committed to reunification.
