Meredith Gaudreau, the widow of former NHL star Johnny Gaudreau, shared her reaction to the songs of 'Johnny Hockey' that exploded during the final of the confrontation of the 4 nations on Thursday night.

The United States and Canada played in the tournament championship game in front of a full crowd in Boston.

Johnny Gaudreau would probably have played for the United States in the tournament if he had not been tragically killed last year in New Jersey.

Gaudreau, next to the younger brother Matthew Gaudreau, died after being hit by a car during a bicycle ride last August.

Meredith has kept his fans published in updates about his family, including Thursday night on social networks.

“So emotional listening to this around me,” said Meredith. “I kept thinking how I can't wait to show these videos to our children someday.”

In November, Meredith announced that she was pregnant with the third son of the couple.

The presence of Johnny Gaudreau felt several times during the tournament, with his NO 13 red, white and blue shirt hanging on the costumes of the teams in Montreal and Boston.

No other player used no 13 for Americans in the tournament.

The American hockey legend Mike Eruzione also used Gaudreau's shirt at the Garden Ice TD before Puck Drop on Thursday night.
