Other nominees included the Philadelphia Eagles corridor, Saquon Barkley, the Marshal of the Detroit Lions, Jared Goff and the Marshal of the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow.

It was not a completely empty night for two of the nominees. Barkley took home the offensive player award for the NFL year, while Burrow won the player back of the year.

But after a season in which Allen almost bossed Bills to the AFC championship, in a campaign in which they were expected to have difficulties after the loss of many offensive weapons, the 28 -year -old California native has Taken the maximum honor of the League for the first time.

In his acceptance speech, Allen thanked his teammates, staff, his parents and his fiancee Hailee Steinfeld.
