Kai Havertz has been brutally mocked by fans after he missed two important chances to score against Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday.
United progressed to the fourth round with a 5-3 win on penalties after goals from Bruno Fernandes and Gabriel Magalhaes saw the third-round clash go down to the wire.
The striker missed the chance to win the game from six meters in the 88th minute and was the only player to miss his penalty in the shootout.
Fans ridiculed Havertz with a series of memes, and pizza chain Domino's even got into the act, sharing a photo of him and writing on X: “Sorry if we missed any orders tonight, we just had this one guy starting”. '
Another account shared a popular clip of a clearly untalented basketball player missing multiple shots to indicate Havertz's missed opportunities.
Meanwhile, another called Havertz “the reason they don't pass.”
Kai Havertz was brutally mocked after wasting a perfect opportunity during Arsenal's clash against Man United.
The 25-year-old player was unable to finish on goal from inside the six-yard box.
Havertz then failed to convert his penalty and United won the shootout.
Another posted a video of a viral social media lookalike of Havertz enjoying an unappetizing-looking meal and wrote: “Havertz vs Manchester United highlights.”
One fan, apparently a Chelsea supporter, posted a video of a utopian society and wrote: “Havertz no longer plays for Chelsea.”
After a tepid first half, the match came alive after the break with Fernandes giving his team the lead at the Emirates.
Shortly afterwards, United were reduced to ten men when Diogo Dalot received a second yellow card for a mistimed challenge on Mikel Merino.
Mikel Arteta's side quickly exploited their lead and Gabriel pulled the Gunners level again with a deflected volley.
Havertz found himself at the center of the action when referee Andrew Madley pointed to the spot after ruling that Harry Maguire had brought down Havertz inside the area.
The decision proved highly controversial among the United players, and a melee subsequently broke out between the two teams which saw Havertz go down.
Martin Odegaard stepped forward to take the penalty, but Altay Bayindir denied him with a good save and the match remained tied.
Arsenal continued to press in their quest for an equalizer and looked to have a golden opportunity to take the lead when the ball fell to Havertz inside the six-yard box with just minutes remaining.
The former Chelsea striker brought the ball down expertly, but his subsequent shot improbably flew over the bar, and the match eventually progressed to extra time.
Havertz's night went from bad to worse, as the game remained tied and was decided in a penalty shootout.
The 25-year-old was the only player to miss his penalty as United progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
