Barcelona Wonderkid Lamine Yamal wrote his name in the history books of the Champions League while his team beat Benfica to move to the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.

Despite playing most of the first game last week with 10 men after an early red letter for Pau Cubarsi, Barcelona won a 1-0 victory and entered the return game as great favorites to progress.

Only 11 minutes from the second stage, Yamal got the ball and made way for a couple of defenders before choosing Raphinha in the back post, with the Brazilian attacker he did not make any error from a short distance.

Benfica kept his hopes alive when Nicolas Otamendi matched at night two minutes later, but Yamal took the center of the stage once again in the 27th minute.

This time he received the ball by the touch line before cutting inside and whipping an unstoppable effort beyond the goalkeeper.

At 17 years and 241 days, Yamal became the youngest player in the history of the Champions League to score and help in the same game.

Raphinha then gave Barcelona more space to breathe when scoring again three minutes before the interval.

But his second goal of the night was not exempt from controversy, since he was initially discarded for offside.

After the flag was lifted, the referee brought to match for a foul in accumulation and booked Otamendi.

However, Var later determined that Raphinha was on the side and the goal was finally given, while Otamendi's yellow card was rescinded.

There were no more goals since Barcelona sailed to an aggregate victory of 4-1.

Yamal now has 12 goals and 17 assists in all competitions this season after winning euros with Spain last summer.

The teenage sensation seems to go strength in force, since Barcelona pursues its first triumph of the Champions League in a decade.

Barcelona will face Borussia Dortmund or Lille in the last eight.
