Galatasaray fans were stabbed to Loftus and Speight before the semifinal clash of the Leeds UEFA Cup with the Türkiye Club in April 2000.

Four men were arrested after the murders, one sentenced to 10 years after an appeal, and three others sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.

In 2012, a Millwall supporter received a ten -year ban from the new DEN after making fun of Leeds fans about the murders during a game between the two clubs.
