Leonardo DiCaprio continues its philanthropic work by donating $1 million to support wildfire relief efforts amid the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
The film star made the announcement on social media on Wednesday, revealing that the donation would be made in collaboration with his organization Re:wild to support both immediate needs and long-term recovery following the fires.
The organization's Rapid Response program is specifically designed to address environmental disasters and emergencies. The seed money supports the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen, the California Community Foundation, the Pasadena Humane Society and the SoCal Fire Fund.
Given that LA is Leo's hometown, his $1 million donation to wildfire relief is a deeply personal and meaningful gesture.
