Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsay joins Kilmarnock on loan until the end of the season

Kilmarnock have agreed a deal to sign Liverpool right-back Calvin Ramsay on loan for the remainder of the season.

Ramsay, 21, returned to Anfield this month after cutting short a season-long contract with Wigan Athletic.

The former Aberdeen defender was sold to Liverpool for £4.2 million in the summer of 2022, signing a five-year deal.

He made his debut for the Anfield giants as a substitute in a 2-0 victory over Napoli in the Champions League in November 2022, and made his international debut for Scotland in a friendly defeat to Turkey that same month.

Ramsay has made two appearances in Liverpool's first team since arriving from Aberdeen.

He has since succumbed to a series of injury problems, making a total of two appearances in Liverpool's first team.

Loan spells at Preston and Bolton were followed by a move to Wigan last summer, and he played 12 times for the Latics.

Kilmarnock are also searching for a striker after captain Kyle Vassell and Innes Cameron were ruled out for two months through injury.
