Luka Doncic finally talks about the Lakers shock trade in an emotional message for mavericks fans

After an impressive trade of great success during the night, shipowner Luka Doncic has published a statement.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday, Doncic was part of an exchange of three teams that saw him move from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers. Among other pieces, Dallas received the great star man Anthony Davis.

The measure sent a shock wave worldwide and even took those involved in the trade by surprise.

As a result, Doncic launched a letter addressed to Mavericks fans after the agreement.

“Dear Dallas, seven years ago, I came here when I was a teenager to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the highest level,” the statement began.

'I thought my career would happen here and I wanted to bring a championship. The love and support that everyone has given me is more than I could have dreamed.

'For a small child from Slovenia who comes to the United States for the first time, you made the northern Texas feel at home. In the good and bad times, from the injuries to the finals of the NBA, their support never changed.

'Thank you not only for sharing my joy in our best moments, but also for getting up when I needed it most.

'For all the organizations with which I have worked throughout the community of Dallas, thanks for letting me contribute to your important job and joining you to bring light to those who need it.

'At the beginning of the next part of my basketball trip, I leave a city that will always feel like a home away from home.

'Dallas is a special place, and MAV fans are special fans. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. – Luka.

The full trade involves Doncic, striker Maxi Kleber and striker Markieff Morris who go from Dallas to Los Angeles.

The Lakers are receiving Davis, to the Max Christie guard and the first selection of the Lakers in 2029.

As a third team in the agreement, the Utah Jazz acquired the guard Jalen Hood-Schifino from the Lakers and two selections of second round of 2025 of the Mavericks (one of which belonged to Los Angeles Clippers).
