Manchester United have held talks with Lecce over a possible deal for Danish international Patrick Dorgu.
The left-back is one of the options United have been exploring to strengthen their squad this month.
Antony is closing in on a loan move to Real Betis, but has not yet been given the green light to travel to Spain while Rubén Amorim continues to evaluate his squad.
Amorim does not want his team to be left too light with crucial matches in the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup coming up quickly.
The 20-year-old stands 6ft 2in, has four caps for Denmark and can also play as a winger.
United had initially targeted Nuno Mendes at Paris St Germain but it was always a difficult deal due to the expense. Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez was another in consideration, but again he would not be sold cheaply.
Dorgu may be able to adjust his budget as talks develop.
The youngster's contract with Serie A side Lecce expires in 2029.
Dortu began his youth career at Copenhagen-based Husum Boldklub before moving to Nordsjaelland's youth academy.
In 2022 he signed for Lecce and a year later he was promoted to the senior team, making his debut in August 2023 in the Coppa Italia.
Since then he has established himself as a regular in the first team. He has started all but one of Lecce's league games this season, with the one he missed coming due to a red card.
