Manchester United have reportedly been offered Juventus' top scorer of the last three seasons in exchange for Joshua Zirkzee.

The Italian giants look set to give up 24-year-old Dusan Vlahovic, who they signed for £62m from Fiorentina in January 2022, for four-goal man Zirkzee.

Zirkzee has had a difficult start at Old Trafford since signing from Bologna for £36.5million and reportedly broke down in tears after being sarcastically cheered by United fans just 33 minutes into their 2-0 defeat. -0 against Newcastle last week.

Manager Ruben Amorim said his striker was “suffering” from that low point but could be given a route back to Italy, where he thrived with Bologna.

Talk SPORT reports that Juventus have offered Vlahovic as part of a swap deal, with the forward's contract set to expire in 18 months.

Juventus would apparently rather trade one of their most prized assets for the 23-year-old than lose him for free in the summer of 2026.

Vlahovic leads Juventus' scoring charts for the third consecutive season with 12 goals

Vlahovic has scored 12 goals in 23 games this season and is on track to surpass his impressive tally of 18 from last season.

However, he is also second in Serie A for big missed chances (12) and is perceived as having limited contribution beyond his goals, similarly to Erling Haaland at Manchester City.

Part of the reason for his potential release is that he is not considered to fit coach Thiago Motta's playing style.

Vlahovic reportedly earns just under £10m a year at Juventus and they are unwilling to match that salary in a new deal, although they do want to give him a longer contract, according to the republic.

Earlier this season he had a conflict with a section of the Juventus fans when they insulted him after a 2-2 draw at home against Venezia and reacted angrily.

However, he made an effort to calm tensions by writing on Instagram: 'I understand the frustration over the latest results and you have every right to express it.

“I have always respected you for giving everything for the shirt, and I thank you for the support you give us every day. Now it is important to stay united to support the team and start again united.”

The Serbian international has already had interest in the Premier League, having been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal.
