Published
The secret service surrounded a man who swung a weapon near the White House on Sunday.
The agency said they were informed by the local law enforcement authorities on Saturday that a man who believed that he was suicide was traveled from Indiana to Washington DC late Saturday evening. SS officials noticed that the man was parked next to a building right next to the White House. The SS says when the officials approached his vehicle, he swung a firearm and “followed by an armed confrontation in which shots were fired.”
The man was taken to a local hospital in which his condition is currently unknown, concluded the agency's explanation.
None of the Secret Service agents who deal with the situation was injured.
