Manchester City right-back Issa Kabore will leave the club again in a sixth move after returning from his loan spell at Benfica that was cut short.

City had wanted the defender to spend the entire season on loan at the Portuguese giants, but terminated the deal after just six months to bring him back to Manchester.

Kabore, 23, will now join Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on loan for the rest of the season and the player is keen to get more regular playing time.

The City academy graduate only played seven times in all competitions for Benfica during his time in Portugal, and only started two of those appearances.

However, the reigning Premier League champions will hope Kabore will be given greater opportunities to develop in Germany as Bremen are eager to agree a deal.

Having only returned to City last week, the first-team contender is ready to make a move to another new environment after previously being sent out on five loan spells at various clubs.

The Bundesliga side are currently sixth in the German top flight and have ambitions of moving up to the European places, with the club just two points away from the Champions League places.

Kabore has Champions League experience this season, representing Benfica twice in the competition, but is yet to make a competitive appearance in City's first team.

However, he has achieved more appearances in Europe and in the Premier League during his spells at Luton and Marseille, among others.

Kabore's existing deal at Etihad extends until 2027.
