In the wake of a two-point conversion catch that doomed his team's season, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews broke his silence after not speaking to the media following the AFC Divisional Round game of the last Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
“It's impossible to adequately express how I feel,” Andrews said in a post on her Instagram account on Thursday.
“I am absolutely devastated by what happened on Sunday. I am devastated for my teammates, my coaches and the Ravens fans.
'I put every ounce of my being into playing at the highest level possible, because I love my team and football like nothing else.
'That's why it has taken me until now to gather my thoughts and address this publicly. Although the shock and disappointment are like nothing I have ever felt before, I refuse to let the situation define me.
'I promise that this adversity will only make me stronger and drive us forward as we move forward.
'I thank everyone who has shown me and our team genuine support these past few days. Despite the negativity, I have seen sincere love and encouragement, even from those who have donated generously to the Breakthrough T1D organization.
“Even when the moment seems darkest, perspective can reveal that there is still a lot of light in this world. Now I'm going to do my part to recover and contribute to it. #Godbless.”
