Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal had shown interest in signing Tel, but has chosen to finish the campaign in the Spurs despite their struggles under Ange Postecoglou this season.

Tel has been limited to only two league openings in Bayern this term, but will hope to play a much more important role in Tottenham in the coming months.

The Frenchman is able to play on the front line, and could be thrown directly to the team because Dominic Solanke is currently out of injury.

The Spurs have a great week that face Liverpool in the second stage of their Copao Cup semifinal on Thursday before traveling to Aston Villa in the FA Cup three days later.

Tottenham won the first leg 1-0 against Liverpool and will seek to hold on to his advantage to reserve his place in the final of next month in Wembley.

The pressure has increased in Postecoglou in recent weeks, but his team won a 2-0 crucial victory over Brentford on Sunday, and will now focus his attention on the competitions of the Cup while trying to finish his 17-year-old wait.
