Michael Phelps and many other American swimmers are mourning this week following the passing of beloved massage therapist and chiropractor Dr. Brian Campbell.
“So many memories Brian,” the 28-time Olympic X medalist wrote alongside a photo of himself with Campbell. 'rap friend.
“Thoughts and prayers for his family,” Phelps continued.
'Your son's stories… the jokes… 20 years of good times… thank you for being such a good human being!'
Phelps' former coach Bob Bowman added: “We will all miss your smile and your positivity.” I love you my friend.'
The US Swimming Team announced Campbell's death on Monday. The cause of death was not revealed.

Campbell has also worked in the UCLA Athletic Department for 13 years, working with the swim team, as well as the golf, tennis, gymnastics and men's basketball teams.
He worked for 11 years as a massage therapist before earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. He also became a teacher at Touch Therapy Institute, where he teaches anatomy/physiology, ethics, sports massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and in-office massage.
Regarding his work with USA Swimming, Campbell was the head chiropractor and massage therapist for the 2004 US Olympic Swim Team in Athens and continued in that role in 2008 and 2012.
And it wasn't just the swimmers who honored Campbell this week.
“Brian Campbell, you brought so much joy to the pool deck and our work rooms,” massage therapist Amy Murry wrote on Instagram. 'It won't be the same without your signature technique.
“I will miss your old music, your old movies, your humor and our thoughtful conversations,” he continued. 'You worked hard but quietly at work and life: sobriety, family and your jobs.
'I will miss my friend. “I'm very grateful that he was a part of my life.”
Campbell (right) appears alongside massage therapist Amy Murry (left), who credited the 68-year-old for reaching out to her about the industry: “You brought so much joy to the pool deck.”
Another massage therapist named Kathy Flippin responded to the post.
“Brian literally gave me my start on working with the United States,” he wrote. “I will be eternally grateful to you for putting up with my endless questions and seeing a spark of potential in me.
'Very humble, no airs, sincere, hard work, so much fun (so much fun!). He showed me by example what Team USA means.
'Shrek,' she continued, using a nickname for Campbell, 'I am grateful for your presence and devastated by your loss. I know your boy meant a lot to you. My heart goes out to your family, I hope you can see the legacy you left from up there.'
