The student of the University of Pittsburgh, who disappeared on the beach in the Dominican Republic, is said to have died according to a report after she has apparently drowned in the ocean.
ABC News, citing a police document, says that the tragedy took place on March 5 … Sudiksha Konanki, 20, and five friends took a walk on the beach in Punta Cana, a resort on the Caribbean coast.
Four members of the group returned to their hotel in the evening and left Konanki and one of her friends on the beach. The couple then took a bath in the ocean, in which Konanki was absorbed by a huge wave and apparently drowned.
The Public Ministry of the Dominican Republic announced ABC News that surveillance cameras had recorded Konanki on the beach on March 6 at 4:15 a.m. – and it was the last time that it was seen alive.
The police interviewed Konanki's friends after she had disappeared, and finally gave them in without charges.
Konanki's father, subbarayudu, was interviewed by CNN and told the network that his daughter went on vacation with her friends in Punta Cana.
Subbarayudu also said that CNN Konanki was enrolled in Pre-Med courses at the University of Pittsburgh, was ambitious and wanted to pursue a career as a doctor.
