The captain of Liverpool, Virgil Van Dijk, escaped from disciplinary action in the first minutes of his second stage of the Cábao Cup with Tottenham, despite looking like Richarlison's elbow.
Van Dijk caught Tottenham striker with a street arm while they matched the ball in the second minute in Anfield.
Richarlison went to the ground after the crash, with the Brazilian seen grabbing his face.
After standing again, Richarlison was seen confronting Van Dijk for the incident.
Referee Craig Pawson chose not to take action against the captain of Liverpool, with the VAR by supporting his decision not to sanction Van Dijk.
Speaking about ITV's coverage, Co-Commentator Ally McCoist suggested that Van Dijk perhaps escaped a red card that caught Richarlison under the chin, instead of hitting the striker on his face.
