The NBA game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night has been postponed due to a rare snow storm that hit Louisiana.
The historic 'once-in-a-lifetime' weather bomb has blanketed the city in snow, with all domestic flights canceled and road trips dangerous.
The Bucks had tried to beat the weather by flying to New Orleans earlier than planned on Monday, but tonight's game was still postponed.
The city is not used to dealing with such adverse weather conditions and local reports revealed that there is minimal equipment to remove snow by hand.
There were hopes that temperatures would rise enough for the game to be played as scheduled, but they remained in the 30s Wednesday morning and officials have now made the decision to reschedule the game.
The Bucks are scheduled to play in Miami on Thursday and it is currently unclear when they will be able to leave New Orleans to reach Florida.
The game was to take place at the Smoothie King Center in downtown New Orleans.
It is currently unclear when Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks will be able to leave town
The Pelicans, meanwhile, won't play until Friday night, when they travel to Memphis to face the Grizzlies.
Louis Armstrong International Airport canceled all commercial departures Wednesday as crews work to clear runways.
The Pelicans are currently enduring a difficult losing season, sitting at 12-32 in the Western Conference standings, while the Bucks are flying high in the East.
Milwaukee has a 24-17 record and ranks behind Cleveland, Boston and New York.
