Washington Wizards star Bub Carrington left the court Monday night in a wheelchair after his head slammed onto the court after clumsily making contact with a New York Knicks player.
The terrifying incident occurred in the third quarter, while Carrington was defending OG Anunoby in the third quarter.
Carrington tried to take the ball from OG Anunoby, missed and then fell and collided with teammate Jonas Valanciunas on the way to the court.
The collision with Valanciunas redirected his fall from his back and butt to take the brunt of the impact on the back of his head.
Carrington remained on the court for a few minutes holding his head in obvious pain. Finally, this year's Washington first-round pick was helped into a wheelchair.
Before being removed from the court, two towels were placed over Carrington's head, a sign that the Wizards rookie had a headache, and the towels gave him temporary respite by blocking some of the lights inside Capital One. Sand.

Carrington was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the game with a “post-traumatic headache,” while Wizards head coach Brian Keefe said after the game that the rookie was never knocked out on the court.
Carrington also appeared at Washington's postgame availability in the locker room talking to his teammates and showing no obvious signs of discomfort.
The Knicks defeated the Wizards 126-106, pulling away in the fourth quarter while Carrington was sidelined.
The rookie not missing time would be good news for Washington, which has the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 5-25.
Carrington is one of only two Wizards who has not missed a game this season, a fact that could be in jeopardy when Washington plays next Wednesday against the Bulls.
