New York Jets have officially confirmed that the disastrous was from Aaron Rodgers is over.
The departure of the 41 -year -old means that Jets face $ 49 million in dead money. As for Rodgers, his future in the game is not clear from here.
“Last week we met with Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction in the field marshal,” said chief coach Aaron Glenn in a joint statement with the new GM Darren Mougey, who is now looking for a New Quarterback.
'It was important to have this discussion now to provide clarity and allow each of us the right time to plan our respective future.
“We want to thank you for the leadership, passion and dedication it brought to the organization and we want success to advance.”
After seeming to be on the verge of retirement, Rodgers left the Green Bay Packers, where he had spent his entire career, for the Big Apple, promising to take the franchise to his first Super Bowl since 1969.
But minutes after his first game, against Buffalo Bills on September 11 at the Metlife Stadium, Rodgers broke the Achilles and was ruled out for the rest of his first season as a plane.
In their return season, the jets finished the campaign with a 5-12 record and failed to reach the playoffs.
