Neymar published a message to his fans on Instagram on Thursday after receiving a retirement from the Brazilian national team for the first time in almost 18 months.
The 33 -year -old has not represented his country since he suffered a serious knee injury in his party against Uruguay in October 2023.
The devastating blow occurred only weeks after its lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia and went on to play only seven times for Al-Hilal after more injury setbacks.
But he returned to his Santos Childhood Club in January, and has registered six goals in seven outings, which led him to be chosen in the Brazilian team for his next World Cup qualifiers Thursday.
Neymar saw the announcement of the team live and shared a photo of himself listening to the press conference of the Head of the National Dorival Team Junior on Instagram.
Next to the photo, Neymar wrote: “I'm glad to return!”

However, Dorival Junior urged fans and the media not to press too much about Neymar when he returns after his long absence.
“There is no need to talk about what Neymar represents,” he said. 'It is currently recovering its form, we understand and we are aware of this. But we believe that his skills and qualities allow him to be in a condition to overcome any situation in the field.
'He is a player whose teammates (Brazil) publicly expressed what represents the group.
'We were waiting for him to return, this is the first opportunity we could have (since we recovered from an injury). I hope I am very happy when I return.
“Let's give the confidence to develop the best you can, we do not believe high expectations, we do not place all the responsibility upon your return.”
Brazil is currently fifth in its World Cup classification group, and still has work to ensure its place in the tournament next year.
They will face Colombia and the reigns of the Argentine world champions at the end of this month.
