The world of tennis has been shaken again by another anti -doping problem after it was confirmed that Venezuelan tennis player Goncalo Oliveira has been provisionally suspended by allegedly giving positive by methamphetamine.
On Wednesday, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced that the 29 -year -old boyfriend provided a sample containing the substance prohibited in an ATP Tour Challenger event in Manzanillo, Mexico, in November 2024.
Oliveira, who currently has a ranking of male singles of 245, came to the final of the tournament in Manzanillo, but was beaten by German player Mats Rosenkranz at the exhibition event.
The news has attracted the attention of many within the world of tennis, with the Australian star Nick Kyrgios offering his vision of the shocking news.
The Australian went to Instagram to upload a screenshot of an Instagram post of a news agency that had published the story on the social media platform.
Kyrgios had added the thematic song to the successful American television program Breaking Bad in its Instagram story, subtitling the publication: “Steroids are fine but this is wild.”

He added six smiling emojis, before writing: 'The world of tennis went crazy'.
According to the ITIA, Oliveira has not appealed the provisional suspension.
“Methamphetamine is an un specified substance, and Oliveira did not have a valid Tuesday for the substance,” the organization wrote.
'The findings for unspecified substances have a mandatory provisional suspension: in the case of Oliveira, this has been in force as of January 17, 2025. Players have the right to appeal the imposition of their provision . Oliveira has not appealed.
Now it is forbidden to play or train at any tennis event that is sanctioned by the members of the ITIA, which includes the ATP Tour, ITF and the WTA.
Meanwhile, Kyrgios has been Franco on the issue of Dopar in tennis lately, with the Australian star recently attacked in Jannik Sinner.
The twice champion of the Australian Open allegedly gave positive by a steroid called Clostebol twice during the Indian wells in March 2024.
He was authorized of any irregularity by the ITIA later in the year, but the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA) appealed that decision, with the case of Sinner to be heard by the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) in April.
Kyrgios embedded Breaking Bad's song in his Instagram story, writing: “Steroids are fine but this is wild.”
Kyrgios has previously talked about doping in tennis, exploiting the twice champion of the Australian Open Jannik Sinner (in the photo), who is the object of a case of appeal by Wada
Meanwhile, the former world No. 1, to IgA Swiatek also received a suspension of a month after he had found that he had positive for a prohibited substance. She accepted her punishment and fulfilled her prohibition, but Kyrgios went out to both athletes for the alleged violations of the doping rule.
“Two 1 World Cup, both made for doping is disgusting for our sport,” Kyrgios said.
'It's a horrible look. The integrity of tennis at this time, and everyone knows, but nobody wants to talk about it, it is horrible. “
Speaking about Sinner, Kyrgios added: “Pigo to my team hundreds and thousands of dollars to make sure that does not happen,” he said. 'Then they knew what happened. Why did they wait five to six months to do something about it? He kept his team for five months, that makes no sense.
“If he did nothing wrong, why did they take the money and the points of his prize (in Indian Wells)? Obviously, they found something wrong about this. Obviously, that's why Wada has appealed it.
Meanwhile, Kyrgios has used a protected classification of the world No. 21 to enter the main raffle for the tournament next month in Indian Wells.
That comes despite the fact that the Australian appears to fight for an injury to the Australian Open last month, after having entered the tournament with an abdominal tension, before being knocked out in the first round of male singles.
