Oleksandr Usyk openly admitted to wearing a pirated Rolex just days after successfully beating Tyson Fury in their second encounter.
While many athletes like to show off their expensive clothing and jewelry, the fan-favorite heavyweight champion shamelessly flaunted his fake watch in a street interview with United44.
After showing the watch to the camera, Usyk quickly admitted the lack of authenticity of his accessory.
“I was bragging a little bit and showed my watch to the cameraman,” he said, laughing. 'It's a Chinese Rolex.
“I was in Türkiye training and I saw some guys selling Rolexes on the beach,” Usyk continued. 'I thought if I bought one, no one would guess it was fake. So I bought it for 100 dollars.'
As he noted, no one questioned whether the watch was fake considering the significant amount the Ukrainian wrestler has earned throughout his career.
Oleksandr Usyk admitted to wearing a fake Rolex after winning $86 million against Tyson Fury
Usyk retained the undisputed heavyweight titles in the highly anticipated rematch with Fury.
After beating Tyson Fury for the second time over the weekend, Usyk reportedly took home $86 million, according to Ukrainian outlet Pravda.
Meanwhile, the Gypsy King pocketed about $70 million.
The pair of heavyweight titans are also in line to boost their earnings through pay-per-view revenue from broadcasts on DAZN PPV, Sky Sports Box Office and TNT Sports Box Office.
Usyk's surprising admission may also be a slight blow to Fury, who is known to be fond of stunning custom watches from brands like Jacob & Co. and Rolex.
His unanimous decision victory over Fury took Usyk to 23-0 and he retained his undisputed heavyweight titles.
