Olympic kite surfer Bruno Lobo – who just competed in the Paris Games in August – heroically saved a drowning swimmer last week… and the dramatic rescue was captured in its entirety on video.
Lobo posted the footage to his Instagram page over the weekend … explaining to his thousands of followers the scene that unfolded on January 10 – as he tested out new gear during a surfing session off the coast of Brazil.

Video shows Lobo making his way through the waves…a young woman appeared to be in great distress as she swam through choppy waters.
Luckily, Lobo saw her and was able to slow down and grab her. She jumped onto his back… and the two eventually made it safely to shore.
The woman appeared to be unharmed… and hugged Lobo before walking away with what appeared to be friends and paramedics.
Lobo was hailed as a hero in the comments section of his post… and he responded to all the love by saying, “I just did what needed to be done and what was within my reach!”
Lobo – who competed in the men's kite competition at the Paris Games over the summer – was able to reunite with the swimmer on Monday … and after they took photos together, the woman's family wrote in a caption on the flicks They are “forever grateful” to Lobo for his actions.
