The grandfather of Patrick Mahomes has been transferred to a hospice in a heartbreaking news for Campo de los Kansas City Chiefs, just over 48 hours after playing for a place in the Super Bowl.
The mother of Mohomes, Randi, announced the news on social networks on Friday, sharing a publication in her Instagram story that said: “My dad is in a hospice and I have no words.”
He has spoken repeatedly on social networks about his father's poor health, but has never revealed exactly what the problem is.
For Patrick, the star of the Chiefs, the news also comes just over a week after the birth of his third son, a second daughter named Golden Raye.
It is not clear for the moment if Mahomes will be in Friday's practice for Chiefs. The Chiefs are scheduled to hold a press conference this afternoon as the progress of the match against the Bills.
Randi Mahomes turned to Instagram during the holidays and asked for prayers for his father, Randy, and in September he shared a photo of her watching Patrick and Chiefs play from the bed of his father's hospital.
“Prayer warriors, please pray for my dad,” he wrote on September 13 while the Chiefs played against Los Angeles Chargers. “It's in the hospital and it's not well.”
