Erling Haaland 'had discomfort walking' ahead of the Manchester City Champions League clash against Real Madrid, has revealed Pep Guardiola.
The Norwegian was a substitute not used Wednesday night, since the Premier League champions were abandoned from Europe after an aggregate defeat of 6-3.
City entered the second stage of the Spanish giants for a single goal thanks, in part, to the Oland orthopedic device in the first confrontation. But the striker's participation in the return game was thrown in doubt after he received an injury in the weekend victory over Newcastle.
Guardiola was optimistic that Haaland played in the game at Bernabéu, leaving many stunned by his absence of the initial XI and then the game completely.
Since then, the head of the city has revealed that the 24 -year -old informed him that he was not ready to play and experienced discomfort walking on the stairs.
“Erling (Haaland), yesterday, tried to train,” Guardiola said. Apparently of the images we have made, it is fine (after his injury against Newcastle), but he had discomfort walking, for example, on the stairs.

“We talked and he said:” I'm not ready. I don't feel good, “so that's what happened.”
The club now faces an anxious wait to see if it will be in shape for the clash of the Premier League against Liverpool on Sunday.
City could also be without John Stones for the weekend clash at Etihad after England's defender was forced in the eighth minute against Madrid. Stones have already lost 16 games this season due to several problems.
For the match against the League leaders, Guardiola will also miss Rodri, who is expected to be left aside for the rest of the campaign, and Manuel Akanji, who could lose up to 10 weeks with an abductor problem.
Oscar Bobb is not available either, since the Norwegian striker continues to recover from fracturing a leg bone during a training session before the start of the season.
