The Premier League explained the reason why Newcastle received a penalty against Nottingham Forest after a VAR review.
Forest took an early advantage in St. James' Park through Callum Hudson-odoi before the Uracs responded to Lewis Miley and Jacob Murphy.
The game was still only 30 minutes young when Lewis Hall put a cross in the forest area from the left.
The ball was blocked by a Ola Aina jump with the Newcastle players who insisted that they hit her arm.
Referee Jarred Gillett waved the game with the local team proceeded to let the ball run out of game.
The video assistant referee Peter Bankes had time to review the incident, instructing Gillett to visit the monitor.
He saw what most of the spectators who watched at home saw, the ball hit Aina's extended arm.

And the Premier League has issued a statement to inform fans of reasoning behind the decision.
The statement said: 'VAR recommended a review in the field for a possible Aina handball, with his arm considered in an unnatural position. After the review, the referee granted a penalty to Newcastle United.
The former city man, Andy Fanchcliffe, agreed, telling Sky Sports: 'If you face the ball and hits your left arm, that's a thing, but Ola Aina turns body like this and her arm extends That will be a problem.
“Nuno Esirito Santo will not be happy, but if you take him at the other extreme, he would want a penalty for that situation.”
The Scottish legend Pat Nevin agreed with Fuechcliffe, telling BBC Radio 5 Live: 'As he suspected. That would be very difficult for the referee to reject. 'It is a little away from Aina.
'There is nothing I can do about it would have been difficult not to give that. He has definitely handled it. I have seen them given.
