Rasmus Hojlund admits that he has to assume his fair part of responsibility for a marathon goal drought at Manchester United.
The £ 72 million striker scored his first goal in 22 hours and 19 minutes in Sunday's 3-0 victory in Leicester, a sterile race that extended 22 games and three months in mid-December.
The Hojlund service has been criticized and argued with its teammate Diogo Dalot during the tie of the United Europa League against the true society earlier this month, when the defender of Portugal could not pass him in front of the goal.
But Hojlund accepts that, ultimately, it is up to him to put the ball at the bottom of the network. “I think it's my performances too,” he said. 'I think I have obviously not been at the top of my game as I wanted, and we are still adapting to a new system and some new positions. But I think I've been growing lately and started to look a little better.
'I can't sit here and say everything, but I think we are beginning to have a little more connection between me and the players, and then beginning to understand what my qualities are even more, and also to play with them.
'I am developing and beginning to understand their qualities, that is what the manager wants. He wants us to play with our strengths, and now we are starting to find ourselves even better. '

Rasmus Hojlund admitted that he has to assume his fair part of responsibility for his drought objective

Hojlund scored the first goal of the United game while they beat Leicester 3-0 on Sunday
Hojlund finished his thin streak in the 28th minute at the King Power Stadium, clinging to a pass from Bruno Fernandes and taking the Wout Faes defense ball before shooting home for his eighth goal of the season, halfway to his counting the last period.
Dane, 22, admitted that he was relieved, but not as much as when he obtained his first goal from the Premier League against Aston Villa on boxing day in 2023, three and a half months after debuting.
'Obviously I am very happy to get my goal and it gives me a lot of confidence. I'm sure it will come more now, '' Hojlund added.
'I just saw, was Faes? – I was running towards the goal, so I was taking my time, seeing it as an opportunity to get closer to the goal, and obviously I took a risk.
'I don't think it was the first time when I scored against Aston Villa, but I was obviously very happy. I see it as a good step on the road, but I just want to continue improving and continue to be better.
'I know that I have not finished the article or what you say here, but I just want to move on. I am sure I will improve even more and score even more goals if I concentrate on that '.
Hojlund has begun to build a better understanding with Joshua Zirkzee since Ruben Amorim assumed the position of chief coach, with the Dutchman playing a broader role instead of simply acting as a replacement for his teammate.
“Obviously, we couldn't play too much together at the beginning of the season, but now he's starting to play in a different type or position and can still do the other part,” said Hojlund.

Hojlund is confident that more goals will arrive after ending his sterile streak
'Playing with him is very nice. He is a lovely boy and I think the competition is a good thing. But I think we also support the qualities of the other very well.
'He (Amorim) wants me to stretch the tone, I think it is quite obvious, and takes me to the channels and keeps the centrals occupied.
'That is what I am trying to do. I think I have a good amount of speed and for that I am here.
