Angelenos are showing their love for the firefighters who have tirelessly battled the Los Angeles wildfires…and giving a group of them a standing ovation at dinner.
You have to watch the scene at King's Fish House in Calabasas – not far from where the Palisades Fire raged – a large group of LAFD members stand up after dinner to leave the restaurant and are met with cheers and greeted with applause.
The restaurant is packed and everyone claps as the uniformed firefighters leave their table.
The LAFD and other agencies have been battling the fires for nine days. Wildfires have burned over 40,000 hectares across the region. At least 25 people have died and more than 12,000 buildings have been destroyed.
However, there are plenty of stories about firefighters heroically saving residents and property… and the people of LA are very grateful to all first responders… and it shows here.
Many restaurants offer free food to firefighters. We're told 22 firefighters sat down to eat… their bill came to over $1,500, with customers chipping in over $800 and King's Fish House taking care of the rest.
