Former Brazilian star Hulk's wedding vows came about after he married his ex-wife's niece.
Hulk, 38, who earned 49 caps for his country and currently plays for Atlético Mineiro, married Camila Angelo in a religious ceremony last Friday, five years after they tied the knot in a civil ceremony, before A second event will take place in their homeland on Tuesday.
He was previously married to Camila's aunt, Iran Angelo, for 12 years between 2007 and 2019, and they had three children together; his sons Ian and Tiago, and a daughter, Alice, who are cousins of his new wife.
But Hulk surprised many when he married Camila after the end of their 12-year relationship with Iran. It has now been revealed that Hulk declared Camila the “love of my life” at Tuesday's ceremony, which cost $3.2m (£2.6m), according to Game, set and match.
As quoted by Game, Set & Match, Hulk told Camila: '2025, I fulfilled a childhood dream which was to marry the love of my life in the cathedral of Campina Grande. Five years ago I began the life I never imagined living.
'Only God knows what we have faced and what we are facing to be here. Many have no idea the size of our love, but I confess that I can't even explain what I feel for you.

'When I saw couples loving and respecting each other I thought that it was all a facade, that such a marriage did not exist, but it was only when you came into my life that God showed me that yes, it is possible to live it in real life (To love, be loved and grow together in the same mentality).
'I give you my heart and promise that I will walk with you hand in hand and with my heart tied wherever our journey takes me.
'I promise to love you and care for you and I will try in every way to be worthy of your love but, above all, I promise to be a true and loyal friend. I will love you forever my love.'
Camila's own vows were even longer, but she insisted that marrying her aunt's ex-husband “wasn't difficult at all” as “it would be difficult to live without you.”
However, not everyone is happy for the newlywed couple, as one of Iran's sisters, Rayssa, attacked Camila on social media earlier this week.
Rayssa wrote: 'Today is a difficult day to accept, a day that reveals how far betrayal can go when it comes from the people we least expect. If my mother were alive, I'm sure she couldn't bear such a monstrosity. Seeing a granddaughter, who grew up under her roof, betray her own family in such a cruel way would be a blow impossible to overcome.
'Yes, exactly today, seven years ago, we were mourning the death of my mother. And today a macabre spectacle occurred that made me understand that she really couldn't be here, because she couldn't resist such shame and monstrosity!
'This photo was even taken at Judas's wedding!'
He added: 'It is sad to realize that Judas not only appears in ancient stories, he sometimes sleeps under the same roof, eats at the same table and, at the right moment, stabs himself in the back.
'Wanting what belongs to others, wanting to live the life of someone who trusted you, is a reflection of an empty heart, incapable of creating its own happiness.
'In this photo, my sister was the maid of honor at the wedding of the treacherous, manipulative, cruel woman who only thought about money. She was married and requested an annulment, claiming… but GOD is fair and nothing goes unnoticed before his eyes.'
Reports of Hulk and Camila's relationship emerged in December 2019, just five months after his marriage to Iran ended. It is believed that Hulk told his family about his relationship with Camila at the time, including his children Ian, Tiago and Alice.

Hulk married Camila in his hometown last Friday and the couple have two children together.
The couple married in a civil ceremony in September 2020, when Hulk was still playing for Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.
A spokesperson for the striker said in a statement at the time: “Hulk called Camila's parents and brother and told them the truth.
'It was the Hulk himself who made the information public because he had nothing to hide.
“His position is transparency and he wants to avoid lies and malicious comments.”
Hulk and Camila now have two children together: Zaya and Aisha.
Last Friday's ceremony took place in Campina Grande, Hulk's hometown. Hulk wore a burgundy suit as he walked down the aisle accompanied by his mother. Camila, for her part, walked to the altar with her father and wore an embroidered dress with a veil by designer Samuel Cirnansck.
Hulk entered the church to the sound of 'Sabor de Mel' by Damares, and Camila chose 'Que Bom Voce Chegou' by Bruna Karla. The ceremony took place at the Diocesan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Conception, with a sea of white roses filling the church.
