Luke Littler's irresistible rise to darts stardom has not only increased the sport's popularity over the past year, but has also put a lot of cash in the youngster's pocket.
Following his impressive triumph at the World Darts Championship earlier this month, in which Littler defeated Michael van Gerwen in emphatic fashion to claim the Sid Waddell Trophy, the darts prodigy racked up another £500,000 to add to his bankroll of general awards.
Following his Ally Pally triumph, the youngest-ever world darts champion took his prize pool to just £1.1 million in major events as a teenager.
However, his career earnings to date are believed to exceed that figure, once earnings from the World Championship, PDC Order of Merit, European Tour, Players Championship, UK Open are added. , the World Matchplay and the World Grand Prix.
His earnings, therefore, amount to an approximate figure of £1.5 million, which is not bad before turning 18.
Unfortunately for Littler, much of it he will never see: the teenage sensation has paid income tax on all of his winnings and will have to do so again thanks to his latest £500,000 World Cup win.

“If you leave that £500,000 in the same fund for your retirement, at age 65, you would have £13,293,751.87 without ever throwing another dart.”

Littler was surprised by the darts stars and his family with a birthday cake in Bahrain.
Littler was seen celebrating his historic birthday at the Bahrain Darts Masters last week. It marked his first tournament as world champion alongside some of the best players on the planet.
Littler faced Lourence Ilagan of the Philippines in the first round, winning 6-3, with the likes of Luke Humphries, Stephen Bunting and Peter Wright also present.
And, as Littler's father Anthony shared on social media, some of his fellow stars appeared to surprise him at a night out on the course before the start of the tournament, with Littler looking surprised when a birthday cake came out to music.
The likes of Bunting and Nathan Aspinall were seen present, as well as Littler's mother Lisa, with someone dressed in a bull costume handing out the cake, which said “Happy Birthday Luke” and had a photo of him lifting the World Championship .
