Aaron Rodgers appears to be trending toward a return to the New York Jets, with new head coach Aaron Glenn 'open' to working with the quarterback next season.
Rodgers' future is one of the biggest talking points of the upcoming NFL offseason, as fans wait to see if the veteran will retire, find a new team or return to MetLife for another year.
A new report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has shed some light on the situation, with the source revealing: 'The New York Jets also hired a head coach, Aaron Glenn, one of their former superstars. They have a quarterback decision.
'Aaron Rodgers has been very clear that the decision on whether he returns will be up to the new head coach and the new general manager.
'Aaron Glenn, from what I have, is open to it…Rodgers too. Expect those conversations to increase in the coming week.
After tearing his Achilles in his first game with the Jets in September 2023, Rodgers remained healthy for the entirety of the 2024 season, but was disappointing for New York.

Darren Mougey has been named Jets general manager, beginning a new era
The Jets went 5-12 to finish third in the AFC East, and fired head coach Robert Saleh in October.
Jeff Ulbrich took over as interim manager of the team for the remainder of the season, but the front office has now settled on a new head general coaching management partnership, bringing in former Lions defensive coordinator Glenn.
He was joined by former Broncos assistant GM Darren Mougey as GM a few days later, solidifying the new decision-making pair in New York.
One of their first decisions will surround who plays quarterback in the 2025 season, and talks will continue this week.
The Jets will introduce Glenn and Mougey at a press conference at Florham Park on Monday afternoon.
