Lewis Hamilton will begin his lifelong dream on Monday when he appears for the first time at the Ferrari factory in Maranello following his £50million-plus-a-year move to the Italian giants.
The seven-time world champion has waited almost a year for the chance to walk through the factory's famous doors since his blockbuster deal was announced last February.
Mail Sport understands he will greet staff and complete time in the simulator today before heading to Ferrari's test track at Fiorano on Wednesday, subject to a modification if bad weather intervenes.
Excited Ferrari fans are expected to be on hand to see Hamilton behind the wheel of the scarlet car for the first time.
Although the test will be private and Ferrari is deliberately keeping the exact itinerary secret, it will be possible to glimpse Hamilton through the trees.
He will drive an old Ferrari, probably the car of 2023, the last model allowed under the TCP (previous car testing) rule that allows the driver 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) of internal practice.

Hamilton will debut as Charles Leclerc's teammate at the Australian Grand Prix on March 16
The Briton is expected to intensify his track acclimatization program in Barcelona at the end of the month. He will also take part in the official F1 test in Bahrain next month, with the new 2025 car, before making his race debut as Charles Leclerc's teammate at the Australian Grand Prix on March 16.
Hamilton, who turned 40 this month, replaced Carlos Sainz in what is considered one of the most exciting transfers in F1 history. He is chasing an eighth world title, but has only won three times since losing the championship to Max Verstappen in 2021.
Ferrari chief executive Benedetta Vigna confirmed that Hamilton's appearance at Maranello would occur this week, adding: “Change is always beautiful.”
'We are preparing the last things. There is a lot of expectation. We are prepared for almost everything. Everything is in its place.
