The football world is in mourning following the passing of Manchester United icon Denis Law, with the news announced on Friday night.
Law, who scored 30 goals in 55 international appearances for Scotland, is one of United's best players, having scored 237 goals in 404 games for the club.
He became the only Scottish player to date to have won the Ballon d'Orlifting football's highest individual honor in 1964, and won four major honors with the Red Devils, including a European Cup in 1967-68.
Law was part of United's famous 'Holy Trinity' alongside George Best and England's World Cup winner Sir Bobby Charlton, who died in 2005 and 2023 respectively.
During his esteemed career, Law also represented Huddersfield, Torino and Manchester City on two occasions, with one of the former striker's most memorable moments coming during a Manchester derby when playing for City.
It has been widely reported over the years that Law's final kick in his professional career saw him relegate United when he scored the winning goal for City in their final game of the 1973-74 season.

It was claimed that Law had relegated United by scoring for City at the end of the 1973-74 season.
Law spent the final season of his professional career playing for City for the second time.
In the 81st minute of the clash, Law scored an audacious backheel but refused to celebrate after realizing his former club could be on the verge of dropping out of the First Division.
Law later told how he felt terrible and hoped the goal would be disallowed for offside.
“I didn't want to go there and particularly win the game,” Law said of the match. “I also didn't want to go there and get beat, so the match was going well for me.” 0-0, five minutes left, whatever.
“I had no idea where the goal was. I took a step back, it was a complete fluke. I turned around and Stepney was going that direction and the ball was going into the back of the net.
'It was horrible. The referee gave the goal but he could give anything, right? It could have been offside, it could have been a foul… but they scored a goal.
“I was very sad… it turned out to be my last shot at a ball in the football league.”
The story has continued to be told since one of United's greatest icons, who ranks third on their list of all-time top scorers, relegated them.
However, this is not strictly true as Law was not responsible for ending United's 36-year stay in the top flight.
Law's goal gave City a 1-0 victory over United, but the English giants were already relegated.
Heading into the clash, United would only have survived if they had beaten City and also seen relegation rivals Birmingham and West Ham drop points.
In that case, they would also have to win the next rescheduled match against Stoke, who lost after the Manchester derby.
And, despite their defeat to City, Birmingham beat Norwich and West Ham picked up a point against Liverpool, meaning that even if Law hadn't scored the goal, the Red Devils would still have been relegated.
Anyway, Tommy Docherty's side lost 1-0 at Stoke in their final game of the season, meaning Law simply confirmed his fate, rather than being responsible for it.
Meanwhile, even though Law stressed that it was his last professional match, that was not actually the case.
Law was under contract for the following campaign, but new City boss Tony Book informed the striker that he would likely struggle for playing time.
Law didn't want his career to end like this, so he tried to change Book's mind and appeared twice in the 1974-75 season.
However, he finally decided to retire on 26 August 1974, and his last professional match was against Oldham on 10 August.
However, Law's goal remains perhaps the most famous goal in Manchester derby history.
